Plastic Studies

Don’t be fooled by manufacturers who:

  1. Do not specify their components or hide behind glorified names for plastic. PP#5 or polypropolene is plastic, Tritan® is plastic, etc.
  2. Paint their plastic silver to look like steel – just because it is silver does NOT mean it is steel.
  3. Incorporate a steel shell that surrounds a plastic plug lid – but your beverage is still in contact with plastic.

What other nasty secrets are hiding in your bottles?

But with scant legislation, little to no regulation around chemicals in commerce, and undislosed ingredients, it’s nearly impossible for consumers to ascertain whether or not a product may cause harm to their families. What’s worse, consumers are forced to navigate a sea of greenwashing with meaningless claims like “green” or “eco”. While some turn to single-chemical claims like “BPA-free” or “phthalate-free”, no single trusted protocol has existed to signal consumers that products are truly free from chemicals that can harm their health. Fortunately, that has now changed.

The simple solution – get rid of plastic!
