Are the bottles used in bottled water safe?

The jury is still out on the toxicity of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and only you can decide if the risks associated with these bottles is worth taking. What is clear is that these bottles pose a significant risk to our environment. 38 billion of plastic bottles are tossed into landfills yearly, and if stacked end-to-end would circle the Earth 150 times every year!! In addition, one year worth of PET bottles require 1.5 million barrels of oil. As good stewards of our environment we need to stop this insidiuos waste and pollution and begin using safe and durable refillable bottles.
