How do I heat milk in my stainless steel bottle?

Never put liquids hotter than 99° F / 37°C in the bottle or the outside of the bottle may get too hot and burn you. You may follow these simple instructions to warm a bottle of milk.

  • Electric or instant bottle warmers can be used. Follow instructions provided by the manufacturer of the bottle warmer
  • Or
  • Fill a deep ceramic mug or glass measuring cup half way with water.
  • Place the water in the microwave for about 1 to 2 minutes or until the water comes to a rolling boil (or you may choose to boil the water in a pot over the stove)
  • Place your stainless bottle filled with milk or other liquid to be warmed in the heated water for 1-2 minutes or until the bottle is lukewarm.

Never heat liquids to a temperature above 99° F / 37°C and, as a precaution, always test on the back of your hand before feeding.

Never put stainless steel bottles in the microwave. It is not recommended to microwave formula, breast milk, or other liquids as hot spots can occur.
