Cleaning & Care

5oz & 11oz Standard Stainless Steel Bottles

Cleaning

  • Before first use, disassemble and clean the product. Place the stainless steel and silicone top components in boiling water for 5 minutes. This is to ensure hygiene. Do not boil printed sleeves as this could cause damage to the printing. Before each subsequent use, clean carefully, fully disassemble and remove the silicone top and sleeve. Clean using warm water, mild soap, and a bottle brush. Thoroughly flush with clean water to remove any soap or food residue.
  • Top Rack Dishwasher Safe. Electric Sterilizer safe. Do not use microwave sterilizers for any metal parts.
  • While cleaning silicone nipples, spouts, straws, or other tops, be careful not to damage the drink holes or vents. Do not turn nipples inside out.
  • Caution: After cleaning or sterilizing do not touch hot bottles with your bare hands.

Additional Care Instructions for Nipples, Spouts, and Straws

Inspect the nipple (feeding teat) and all other silicone mouthpieces or tops before each use.

Pull the feeding teat, other silicone mouthpieces, and tops in all directions. Throw away at the first signs of damage or weakness.

Do not leave a nipple (feeding teat) in direct sunlight or heat, or leave in disinfectant (“sterilizing solution”) for longer than recommended, as this may weaken the nipple (teat).

Silicone can be damaged by teething. Inspect the opening of all drink components for loose silicone. Replace when worn, torn, or if there is loose silicone.

Instructions For Use.

Once clean, add the desired liquid to the bottle. Pull the nipple, spout, or straw through the metal collar and screw the collar onto the bottle. (Do not over-tighten to allow for ventilation.) Before feeding, always check the liquid temperature by testing it on your wrist. If using Pura Natural Vent Nipples™, keep the nipple vent hole up and in line with the child’s nose while feeding. The “Pura” logo on the nipple will be down, by the child’s chin. This will ensure the anti-colic venting works as designed.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

In the USA, under normal use, all stainless steel components are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Dents, scratches, and scuffs to the outside finish over time are normal and not cause for replacement.

Wear on the silicone components is not covered by the warranty.

Warming a Stainless Steel Bottle

  • Never put stainless steel bottles in the microwave.
  • Never use a microwave for heating.

You may follow these instructions to warm a bottle of milk:

Use an electric bottle warmer: be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

OR

Place your stainless bottle filled with milk or other liquid to be warmed in a pot or mug of heated water for 1-2 minutes or until the bottle is lukewarm.

OR

You may run hot tap water over the bottom portion of the bottle for 30 seconds.

Never give a child liquid at a temperature above 99°F / 37°C and, as a precaution, always test on your wrist before feeding.

Pura Bottles & Nipples Support Infants

Our Natural Vent Nipples™ support nursing and bottle-fed babies with a shape that promotes a superior seal between baby and nipple and a flow rate that simulates and supports breastfeeding. A one-piece vent system helps prevent colic. Milk stored in Kiki bottles is protected from exposure to light, preventing the breakdown of important proteins and nutrients.

All Pura silicone components are crafted from medical-grade silicone. Silicone is a natural material; it does not contain any plastic, latex, or BPA. You may find replacement Pura silicone components at your local infant specialty store or on our website: PuraStainless.com

Storing Milk

You may use the bottles to store milk using Pura Silicone Sealing Disks (sold separately). When freezing, do not fill the 11oz bottle above the 8oz line or the 5oz bottle above the 4oz line. Filling the bottles beyond this point can cause the bottles to deform when the liquid expands as it freezes.

For your child’s safety and health WARNING!

  • Continuous and prolonged sucking of fluids will cause tooth decay.
  • Always check food temperature before feeding.
  • Throw away silicone components at the first signs of damage or weakness.
  • Keep components not in use out of the reach of children.
  • Never attach to cords, ribbons, laces, or loose parts of clothing. The child can be strangled.
  • Never use feeding teats or spouts as soothers.
  • Always use this product with adult supervision.
  • Children should never walk or run while drinking from a bottle.

Accidents may occur when babies are left alone with drinking equipment due to the baby falling or if the product has been disassembled.

Tooth decay in young children can occur even when non-sweetened fluids are used. This can occur if the baby is allowed to use the bottle/ cup for long periods through the day and particularly through the night, when saliva flow is reduced or if it is used as a soother.
